Sunset over Dartmoor #1
Driving over to Exeter the other night, heading along the Milber back road and spotted this as I came around the corner; a rainstorm receding over the moors just as the sun was coming down. We're looking from Barton Hill across the moors with Haytor visible (just) in the far distance.

Madge
Madge, our doberman, once again. Photos of Madge tend to be accidental affairs. At least for me, anyway but I think Madge plans ahead rather more than I do and the best. In this one I was aiming for Wayne (seated, behind) and his café. I'd fired off half a dozen when he wasn't looking when Madge planted herself bang in the middle of the frame. I got one shot off and she got up and walked away.

Burnet Moth
This is a Six Spot Burnet Moth. One of the few moths that are active during the day. They're quite poisonous, pumped full of hydrogen cyanide, apparently. I've never seen one before but on this day, in the grass on the cliffs overlooking Lyme Bay, there were quite a few.

Beach Huts on Paignton Beach
Paignton is famous for its beach huts. There are hundreds of them, white with brightly coloured doors, stretching for miles along the sea front like the technicolor teeth of a saw buried in the ground.

View to Babbacombe Beach.
There's a path that runs between Oddocombe and Babbacombe beaches with a section of boardwalk built by my friend Russell from a timber so heavy that it will not float. The small group of buildings at the foot of the cliff, viewed from the boardwalk, is the recently and excelently refurbished Cary Arms Hotel, where you can eat, drink, spend the night and wake up to a fabulous views on the South Devon coast. I walk this section of coast most mornings with my dogs. That makes me a very lucky man.
